New competition that aims to reward students with outstanding general knowledge skills

Vitrina Advertising and the Business Women Association (AFA) Cluj have been working together for the past year organizing the largest general knowledge competition for young people in Cluj-Napoca, that is to develop into the most important competition of this kind in Romania: CuGeT.

The contest, roughly translated as The General Knowledge Olympiad for Youngsters– CuGeT, was officialy launched in the begining of November 2015 and it has already created a buzz, convincing around 10.000 young people to join and test their knowledge. The subscriptions are open until December 10, and the grand finale of the competition will take place in April 2016, being broadcasted on the national television. The winners will be rewarded with cash prizes in the total amount of EUR 10,000.

One of the objectives of the project is to reward the youngsters aged 14 to 25 who have outstanding general knowledge skills and who are always curious about what is going on in the world. CuGeT aims to blaze the path and to become a long-term phenomenon at a national level. The project came as a natural answer to some saddening stats: more than 60% of the Romanian pupils don’t read any books besides the compulsory textbooks, according to the recent studies made on the book market.

In order to change the current situation, AFA Cluj and Vitrina Advertising envisioned this project as a cool and fun contest, targeted at youngsters. The visual identity is modern and appealing; the communication campaign includes animated promo videos, an optimized  website (www.cuget.afacj.ro), outdoor, media and social media campaigns.
