Josh Mayer
Josh has run with the bulls in Pamplona and scuba dived off Zanzibar yet still can't figure how to make 3-way conference call. He joined Peter Mayer Advertising in 1991 and brings 20+ years experience in advertising copywriting, having worked for Dentsu, Young and Rubicam and J. Walter Thompson in New York City, and J. Walter Thompson and DDB Needham Worldwide in Bangkok, Thailand.

Before joining Peter Mayer, Josh worked on a number of national and international accounts including Kodak Film, Burger King, McDonald’s, Unilever Personal Products, Mobil Oil and Glaxo. Presently, he is the agency's Creative Director, and alternately squashes ideas and takes credit for work on everything from the Audubon Nature Institute to Zatarain’s Rice and Spices, and all accounts in between.

Outside of the ad world, Josh donates his time to local civic organizations such as the local PBS station (WYES), The Contemporary Arts Center (CAC), The Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans (GFGNO) and Anagram Support Services (ASS). Josh graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Film and Television from the USC Film School. He is married, has two kids and still somehow finds time to drink wine and play golf, but never at the same time.

Scott Rockwood
Scott Rockwood utilizes his background as a highly successful art director in his current role as CEO/Executive Creative Director of Richter7, a communications agency headquartered in Salt Lake City. During his career, Scott has created campaigns that have appeared in The One Show, Communications Arts, Print, Art Directors International, the Athena awards, the CLIO awards, the Gold Lions, and the EMMYs. Print magazine has called him one of two recently “discovered” art directors in America, and several other publications have featured him, including Advertising Age’s Creativity.

According to Scott, unpredictability is the key to good, creative advertising – from the core message, to the copy, to the visual execution.

Scott was Executive Vice President and Creative Director of Williams & Rockwood for 10 years before joining Richter7. He has also served as president of the Salt Lake City Art Director’s Club. Scott holds a bachelor of fine arts degree in art from Utah State University.

Tom Mudd
As Doe Anderson’s Chief Financial Officer, Tom Mudd oversees the agency’s Accounting, Human Resources and Administrative departments and is a member of the Board of Directors, where he works closely with the agency’s Operating Committee in overseeing the direction of the agency.

Since joining Doe Anderson as Controller in 1984, Tom has witnessed the agency grow from a mid-size ad shop to one of the region’s most prominent integrated agencies offering advertising, public relations, public affairs, interactive and web development, and direct marketing services. He’s seen how Doe Anderson’s staffing and creative needs have changed over the years and has ensured the agency’s accounting and technology needs keep pace.

Tom is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Bellarmine University in Louisville, where he earned his B.A. in Accounting. Shortly after graduation, he was honored with a national Sells Award for earning high scores on the CPA exam. Prior to joining Doe Anderson, Tom spent several years as an accountant with Deloitte & Touche.

Tom is a current member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also currently serves on the AAAA Agency Finance Committee.

Suzie Ketterer
In Susie’s 26 years of marketing experience, not only has she worked with Fortune 100 clients, but she has also been instrumental in changing the face of marketing throughout her local community. Her work has earned her a reputation of being strong on strategy, a big-picture thinker, and full of creative ideas that get results.

Throughout her time at Simantel, Susie has truly lived the “agency life,” holding various positions including Account Supervisor, Creative Director, and Director of Business Development. Susie purchased Simantel in 2003 with a longtime coworker and friend. Together, they have grown the business threefold, both in billings and in number of employees.

When Susie’s not busy running her business, she spends time with her husband and three children traveling to hockey games and cheerleading camps, and even playing makeup artist for her youngest little actress. She also donates her time to work with various community and nonprofit organizations, holding a position on the Board of Directors for both Common Place and Junior Achievement. She takes pride in her ability to offer marketing expertise to local government organizations and charities—giving special attention to disabled children’s organizations such as Easter Seals and Camp Big Sky. On top of all of this, Susie serves as an adjunct teacher, guest speaker, and panelist at her alma mater, Bradley University.

Mark Nylander
Mark Nylander blends the talents of a skilled listener, an experienced strategist and a creative problem solver to provide effective communications counsel for his clients. It is Mark’s leadership skills and business management expertise that prompted Liggett Stashower’s Board of Directors to elect him as Chief Executive Officer for the company in 2004. As CEO, Mark is the agency’s ranking official and responsible for the operational management of the firm, in addition to maintaining a number of account management assignments.

Mark began his career with The Stouffer Corporation/Nestle S.A., where he was involved in a broad range of public relations and advertising assignments for this consumer products giant. He next accepted a position with the Jayme Organization’s public relations affiliate, Proconsul, where he substantially broadened his communications expertise in the business-to-business arena. In 1994, Mark joined Liggett Stashower and engineered the growth and development of the firm’s public relations business.

Clients which Mark has served cover the spectrum of consumer, retail and business-to-business markets in a variety of industries, including home improvement/building products, professional services, automotive/trucking, health care, telecommunications and consumer packaged goods. Mark has also counseled clients and developed communications strategies on sustainability and environmental issues and has written and spoken on various topics, including crisis communications and reputation management.

Mark currently serves as a Trustee for the Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity and the Better Business Bureau of Cleveland, and is on the Advisory Board for Kent State University’s School of Journalism and Mass Communications. He is a 2002 recipient of the William Taylor Distinguished Alumnus Award given by Kent State's School of Journalism and Mass Communications, and in 2006 received the Lighthouse Award for career achievement from the Greater Cleveland Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.

Rand Mikulecky
There was a time in Sullivan Higdon & Sink history when Rand Mikulecky had to share a cramped office with his boss, SHS founder, Al Higdon. This “quality time” with Al put a real damper on Rand’s personal phone calls, but it also instilled in him the values of the founders and their vision for the growth of SHS.

Twenty-five years later, Rand’s the boss, sharing leadership with four other agency partners. He doesn’t share an office because SHS did away with individual offices, and everyone is in an open environment. Other things have changed, too. SHS has grown to a 110-person agency with offices in Kansas City and Washington, D.C., in addition to Wichita, Kansas. The agency has been recognized as one of the best places to work in the Midwest. And hating sheep is the company’s mantra. Through it all, Rand and SHS have benefited from what he learned firsthand in those early days.

A Wisconsin native, Rand started his career in advertising at Johnson Controls in Milwaukee. His career went south to Wichita when he joined the marketing department of Cessna Aircraft Company and where he discovered another passion – flying.

Rand left Cessna but not his enthusiasm for aviation. He got his pilot’s license and joined SHS in 1981 to work on the Learjet account. A few years later, he helped bring Cessna on as a client, and over the years has also worked with some of the agency’s best known accounts including AMR, BFGoodrich, Cargill, Enturia, GE Insurance, Helzberg Diamonds, Pizza Hut and TAG Aviation.

Rand moved to Kansas City in 2003 to help lead SHS’s growing business in Kansas City and bolster the area’s barbecue business, where, by the way, he serves on the board of the American Royal Barbecue – the world series of barbecue contests.

Jane Tamraz
Jane joined Biggs|Gilmore in 1993, making the jump from the client side of the business to the agency side. Seven years later, she purchased the agency with partner Mike Gerfen and today oversees the activities of many of the agency’s core disciplines.

A graduate of Michigan State University, Jane was director of marketing for a Michigan-based health-care system before joining Biggs|Gilmore. She has supervised account teams and provided counsel on marketing and sales strategies for clients including Kellogg, Kimberly-Clark, Johnson & Johnson, Steelcase, Procter & Gamble, Pfizer, Zimmer and X-Rite, to name a few.

Along with Mike and the agency’s leadership team, Jane is committed to ensuring that the agency fulfills its mission; uniquely delivers on its strengths of strategy, creativity and technology; and provides its employees with a fun and rewarding place to be.

As a testament to her dedication to making Biggs|Gilmore the best digital agency in the country, under her tenure, the agency won the equivalent of an Oscar in the interactive world when it was recognized as the “2007 Top Agency” at the WebAwards, an annual, global competition sponsored by the Web Marketing Association.

Bill Coontz
As President, Partner and “Fearless Leader” at Kruskopf Coontz, a brand planning and communications agency in Minneapolis, Bill Coontz believes that if the strategy isn’t right, the creative will never be. With his partner and agency founder Sue Kruskopf, Bill provides leadership over this award-winning agency, while overseeing all agency accounts and strategic planning.

Bill began his advertising career 20 years ago as an account guy at BBDO in Minneapolis. His claim to fame is working on the Spam account in his early years. Today the brand name is used daily, in technology nomenclature, although Bill can’t really take credit for that. Since then Bill has worked on many big brands and accounts. From consumer packaged goods manufacturers like Schwan’s, General Mills, Kraft, and Hormel, to building products like Marvin Windows and Doors and Hurd Windows, to outdoor recreation products like Mercury Marine and Scientific Anglers. To office products like 3M Post it Notes and Scotch tape.

Prior to joining KC, Bill was Partner and General Manager of the headquarters office of Bozell Kamstra. Prior to that, he spent many years at Martin/Williams and Campbell-Mithun, both in Minneapolis.

Bill likes to talk to clients, a lot. He also really likes to spend time with his family, and has a huge passion for Canadian trophy fishing, just ask him. But if you do, expect to see pictures.

Jim Dalton
Jim is a native of the suburbs of Chicago and an admitted Cubs fan. He founded the Dalton Agency in 1989 and has led it from start up to over 60 employees and $50 million in capitalized billings. He has helped craft award-winning advertising and promotional campaigns for companies in a variety of industries including real estate, travel and tourism, automotive, information technology, product manufacturing, education, entertainment and sports marketing. He attended college in Jacksonville, Florida on a soccer scholarship and quickly realized a career in soccer might not provide a stable future and turned to a career in advertising.

Jim has developed strategic communications plans for several regional, national and international accounts including: McDonald's, the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars, MPS Group, Armor Holdings, Beall’s Department Stores, Lorenz Surgical, The Jacksonville Super Bowl Host Committee, ING, and NYK Worldwide Logistics.

An active member in the community, Jim serves on the board of directors for Take Stock In Children, the Ronald McDonald House, The Otis Smith Foundation and BBT - Banking Branch & Trust.

B. Vaughn Sink
After a very successful career in the agency business, Vaughn Sink was named Executive Director of AMIN North America in 1997. But his affiliation with the organization dates back to 1984, when Sullivan Higdon & Sink, now a $92 million marketing communications agency headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, joined the network.

Vaughn had worked at SHS since 1972 and retired as its Chairman/CEO in 1997. Before joining SHS, Vaughn worked on both the agency and client side of the business. He also served as an Air Force Information Officer and was a liaison officer to the White House Press Corps during the Lyndon Johnson administration.

During his agency career, Vaughn served on the AMIN Executive Committee for 10 years and held all four officer positions. He also helped found AMIN Asia-Pacific and was AMIN North America’s delegate to the group’s initial organizational meeting in 1996.

A graduate of Wichita State University, Vaughn is active in a variety of community organizations. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Wichita Area Chamber of Commerce, Historic Wichita Cowtown and Wichita Active Aging. Vaughn is also a member of the Wichita State University President’s Council, Friends of the Elliott School of Communication, and the Kansas Arabian Horse Society.
